Sergio Ramos Knocked on These Teams' Doors
One of the key figures in the transfer window is the legendary Spanish defender, Sergio Ramos. Weeks into the new season, he still finds himself without a team, despite being linked to various clubs.
From MLS’s new team, San Diego, to Sevilla, Ramos has received offers that have fallen short of his expectations. Although recently there was talk of him potentially moving to Qatar, one of the most likely destinations for the Spaniard could be Brazil, with teams like Botafogo, Corinthians, Flamengo, or Vasco da Gama, according to information from UOL Sport.
Here are other players currently without a team:
Adrien Rabiot
The French midfielder, after his solid performance in the Euros with Les Bleus, remains without a team. Juventus chose not to renew him due to his high salary demands. The Bianconeri opted to strengthen their midfield with the arrival of several players (Khéphren Thuram, Douglas Luiz, Teun Koopmeiners). Although it was expected that the former PSG player would receive numerous offers, the French international started the season without a club.
Several clubs tried to sign him, including AC Milan, who ultimately went for Youssouf Fofana, as well as Manchester United and Liverpool. However, the player’s salary demands, with 48 international caps, discouraged potential suitors. Véronique Rabiot, who manages her son’s career, may need to reconsider her expectations if they want to secure a new club for him in the coming weeks.
Anthony Martial
The French striker has been injury-prone. At Manchester United, Anthony Martial almost never completed a full season without setbacks. The Red Devils finally decided not to renew his contract. Like Memphis Depay, Martial hasn’t received many offers. Recently, Lille attempted to sign him, while Flamengo in Brazil and AEK Athens in Greece have also shown interest.
Wissam Ben Yedder
A prolific goal scorer in Ligue 1 in recent years, Wissam Ben Yedder hasn’t been able to relaunch his career since leaving AS Monaco. The French international is dealing with legal issues, which have scared off several clubs that prefer to avoid risks for the time being.
