Real Madrid to Play in Intercontinental Cup Final
Real Madrid will compete in the 2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup Final as the reigning Champions League champions on December 18 in Qatar, coinciding with the second anniversary of the World Cup final held at the same venue.
The annual club tournament, which begins on September 22, will feature five matches. The first match will take place in the United Arab Emirates, followed by a match in Egypt, before the competition moves to Qatar, which will host the remaining three matches.
In the opening match, Al Ain, winners of the AFC Champions League, will face Auckland City FC, winners of the OFC Champions League. The winner will then play against Al-Ahly, champions of the CAF Champions League, in the second match.
In the third match, the winner of the Copa CONMEBOL, whose final is set for November 30, will take on Pachuca, classified as the top club from CONCACAF in North America.
Subsequently, the winners of the second and third matches will face each other, with the victor advancing to the final against Real Madrid.
