The transfer to Madrid was first confirmed by the player's father, Umit Güler, through a video on social media taken from a television series.

The club itself later confirmed that they will receive €20 million for the agreement, as the player terminated his contract, with the potential for an additional €10 million based on Güler's performance.

Furthermore, Fenerbahçe will receive 20% of the amount that Real Madrid receives from any potential future transfer of the player to another club.

The Istanbul-based club stated that the player has already traveled to Madrid today, on a flight organized by the Spanish club, to undergo a medical check-up before signing the six-season contract."
