Places Messi Wants to Visit
Lionel Messi, current forward for Inter Miami and captain of the Argentine national team, spoke on the podcast Abitare, where his nephew collaborates, and revealed that despite traveling constantly around the world, there are certain places he would like to visit with Antonela Roccuzzo and their children Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro.
The Argentine star mentioned during the conversation, while he was at the team hotel before the start of the Copa América, that thanks to his job, he has been able to travel all over the world. However, he noted that he has not been able to visit as a tourist because they usually go "from the hotel to the field."
"Because of football, I had the luck to go everywhere, I traveled around the world. I say 'traveled' in quotes because we always go from the hotel to the field or to the training places, but I think I have been all over the world. I visited many places," expressed the 36-year-old forward from Rosario.
Nevertheless, Messi commented that he would love to explore Argentina. Even though he is known to be from the South American lands, the Inter Miami forward pointed out that there are several places in his own country that he doesn't know and would love to visit with his wife Antonela and their children.
"I still need to explore Argentina. I never had the opportunity. It’s something we always talk about with Antonela, doing it as a family, being able to visit our country which has wonderful places," said Messi.
He also revealed that he wants to visit several places in Argentina that many people in Spain have told him about and that he only recognizes from photos. Additionally, he mentioned that it is currently difficult to visit his country due to the football schedules and that, when he has the chance, he goes to Rosario to be with his family, as it is something "sacred."
"Whenever I have vacations, I go to Rosario, and even more now that my calendar has changed and my vacations are in December when it's summer in Argentina. For me, the holidays are very special and being in Rosario with my people is sacred. In the future, when this (his career) ends and we have time, I think I will be able to visit," concluded the former Barcelona forward.
