Old Tweets from Szczesny About Barcelona Resurface as He Prepares to Join the Club
As Wojciech Szczesny prepares to join FC Barcelona, some of his old tweets about the club have resurfaced on social media, generating significant interest among fans.
Szczesny, who is about to sign with Barça as a replacement for Marc-André ter Stegen following his injury, expressed his admiration for the Catalan club and its key players back in 2011.
One of the most talked-about tweets is one Szczesny posted on April 16, 2011, where he joked about a misplaced pass by Xavi: “Cool! I just saw Xavi pass an easy ball out for a throw-in! Remember this moment because he probably won’t do it again!”
Additionally, Szczesny also showed his admiration for Lionel Messi in another tweet, calling him “the best player in history!” just before the Champions League semifinal between Barcelona and Real Madrid on April 27, 2011.
Now, Szczesny’s dream of becoming part of Barcelona is about to come true. The goalkeeper is expected to fly to Barcelona this weekend for a medical examination and could join training under Hansi Flick as soon as Monday.
