Nagelsmann Praises German National Team Player
Germany's head coach, Julian Nagelsmann, praised Jamal Musiala, the Bayern Munich forward, who is currently in fine form ahead of the national team's upcoming Nations League matches against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Hungary.
"His role at Bayern Munich is significant, which is important. I have always said that he needs to be more goal-hungry, something I noticed during my days at Bayern, and he is showing that now," Nagelsmann said in a press conference, referring to his former player at the club, where he coached from 2021 to 2023.
Nagelsmann and Musiala worked together at Bayern during that period. Musiala, 21, is enjoying a particularly sweet moment, having scored five goals in the Bundesliga this season, where he has also provided an assist and scored crucial goals like last Saturday's in Bayern's 1-0 victory over St. Pauli on matchday 10 of the league.
In that match, Musiala's performance was notably brilliant, scoring from about thirty meters out.
"He's doing well. He has a great responsibility and is the player who decides whether they win or lose," Nagelsmann noted.
With Musiala in top form, the German coach expressed confidence in being able to work with a usual group of selected players in the coming days, where the Spanish-born goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, who plays for Manchester City, is the new face.
Germany will face Bosnia-Herzegovina in Freiburg this Saturday in a Nations League Group A3 match. Nagelsmann's team leads the group, remaining undefeated, while the Bosnian team is last, having not won a single match.
