Mexico extends partnership with Adidas for 10 more years
The German brand Adidas will continue outfitting the Mexican national team for another decade, following a contract renewal that began in 2007, the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) announced in a press release on Friday.
“For the FMF, it’s an honor to have Adidas remain part of our history for 10 more years. This collaboration is built on shared values, with Adidas showing a deep commitment to respecting our culture, traditions, and passion for football,” said Ivar Sisniega, the federation’s executive president.
The relationship between El Tri and the sportswear giant started in 1984 and lasted until 1990. After a break, the partnership resumed in 2007. During this second phase, Adidas has celebrated with Mexico five Gold Cup titles and the U-17 World Cup win in 2011. They’ve also outfitted the team for the men’s World Cups in 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022.
The renewed deal will see Adidas through the 2026 World Cup cycle and cover the tournaments in 2030 and 2034. “For Adidas, being alongside Mexican football has always been important. Contributing to its journey of success has become increasingly relevant, and we’re excited to continue being part of this path,” said Jorge Dionne, general manager of Adidas Mexico.
