Jamal Musiala Back in Training and Eyeing Barcelona
German midfielder Jamal Musiala has returned to solo training with Bayern Munich, just a week before their Champions League clash against Barcelona at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc. According to the newspaper Bild, the player "trained individually without the ball for almost 15 minutes with Bayern’s physio Knut Stamer" and "after a light warm-up," he "did some light running exercises."
The German international has been out for about two weeks after experiencing hip discomfort that made him miss both of Germany's matches in the Nations League and kept him out of the recent Bundesliga game against Eintracht Frankfurt.
The paper also mentions that Musiala is uncertain for Bayern's upcoming match on Saturday against Stuttgart, but he hopes to be ready for the crucial showdown next Wednesday against the Catalan side. On another note, central defender Dayot Upamecano also participated in individual training to complete his recovery from a right thigh injury he sustained in Frankfurt, which also kept him out of the international break with France.
Bild reports that coach Vincent Kompany "has more hope" that the defender will be ready in time for the Stuttgart match than Musiala will be.
