Estevão Equals Ronaldo and Endrick After Achieving This With Brazil
Estevão, the Palmeiras forward, has become the fifth-youngest footballer in history to debut for the Brazilian national team at 17 years and 135 days old.
The skillful winger, who is reportedly in talks with Chelsea, earned his first minutes with the Selecao during the 1-0 victory against Ecuador in the seventh matchday of the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Born on April 24, 2007, Estevão stepped onto the pitch at the Couto Pereira Stadium in Curitiba in the 62nd minute, replacing Luiz Henrique, a Botafogo forward and former Real Betis player.
This debut made Estevão the fifth-youngest player to feature for the five-time world champions.
He is only surpassed in this regard by Pelé (16 years and 257 days), Edu (16 years and 306 days), Ronaldo Nazário (17 years and 224 days), and Endrick (17 years and 246 days), according to BeSoccer.
Endrick, another rising Brazilian star, also developed in Palmeiras' youth ranks and currently plays for Real Madrid at just 18 years old. He, too, is part of the squad led by head coach Dorival Júnior.
Brazil, still recovering from a disappointing Copa America in the United States, managed a narrow 1-0 win over Ecuador, thanks to a goal from Rodrygo. However, their performance raised concerns as the team faced boos from fans at times.
The Selecao will face Paraguay on Tuesday at the Defensores del Chaco Stadium in Asunción, aiming to climb higher in the standings. They currently sit in fourth place with an equal number of wins and losses (3).
