Brazil Call Up Two More Players for Match Against Uruguay
The Brazilian national team will host Uruguay in Salvador for the 12th round of the South American qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Brazil called up defenders Dodô from Fiorentina and Alex Telles from Botafogo on Friday to replace the suspended Vanderson and the injured Guilherme Arana for the upcoming match against Uruguay on Tuesday in the World Cup qualifiers.
The substitutions were announced by Brazilian head coach Dorival Júnior, who has already arrived in the Bahian capital with the 'Canarinha' after their 1-1 draw against Venezuela on Thursday in Maturín.
According to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), the new call-ups will join the squad this Friday directly in Salvador.
In the match against Venezuela, Vanderson received a second yellow card and will serve a one-match suspension, while Arana suffered an ankle injury before the game and was not even on the substitutes' bench.
Brazil is in third place in the South American World Cup qualifiers with 17 points, one ahead of Uruguay, which is in fourth place but still has a pending match from the 11th round and could overtake Brazil even before their encounter in Salvador.
