Andrés Iniesta, the scorer of the goal that gave Spain victory in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, announced via his social media that he will reveal his future plans on October 8.
Iniesta posted across his social platforms with the title 'coming soon', showing a hooded artist painting a mural of his image and writing in English, 'Welcome to my future', alongside the date of October 8.
According to multiple reports, the Barcelona legend is expected to announce his retirement from football at the age of 40, after an extensive and successful career.
The Albacete-born player, currently without a club since his contract with the Emirates Club in the United Arab Emirates ended in June this year, has had a long professional journey, most of it linked to Barcelona. He joined the club as a youth player and left in June 2018 after 16 seasons with the first team and 674 official matches.
After leaving Barcelona, Iniesta played for Japan’s Vissel Kobe from 2018 to July 2023, and then for the Emirates Club from August 2023 until June 2024.
