Alarms in Mexico and Feyenoord: Santi Giménez Out for Three Months
Mexican striker Santiago Giménez, who plays for Feyenoord, will be sidelined for about three months after getting injured during Sunday’s Eredivisie match against Breda, as confirmed by the Dutch club.
During the sixth round of the Dutch league, after Feyenoord’s tough Champions League loss to Bayer Leverkusen (0-4), Giménez started the match against Breda but felt discomfort in his right leg. The medical team quickly attended to him on the field, and he was stretchered off.
Feyenoord’s official update stated that following further tests, the forward has suffered a thigh injury that "requires a recovery period of approximately three months."
Giménez had featured in all seven matches Feyenoord played since the season started, scoring four goals.
