Alarm Bells for Liverpool! Alisson Exits with Injury
Liverpool’s Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker left the pitch at Selhurst Park injured during the 77th minute of their Premier League match against Crystal Palace in the seventh round.
Until that point, Alisson had been the standout performer for his team, making a crucial save against Senegalese striker Ismaila Sarr at the end of the first half and positioning himself well against the Londoners’ attempts after the break.
With a muscle injury in his right leg, Alisson was replaced by Czech goalkeeper Viteszlav Jaros, who made his Premier League debut at just 23 years old.
Alisson will miss next week’s double-header in the World Cup qualifiers, joining Colombian player Daniel Muñoz of Crystal Palace, who also suffered an injury just 15 minutes into the match.
