Egypt secured a 1-0 victory against Mauritania with a stunning long-range goal from Ibrahim Adel, which called into question the responsibility of Mauritanian goalkeeper Mamadou Diop. Poor positioning prevented him from stopping the shot, sealing his team’s defeat.  

With this result, Egypt consolidates its position as the absolute leader of Group C, remaining unbeaten in the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers, while Mauritania sinks to the bottom of the group.
