Morocco Thrashes Central African Republic, Tops AFCON 2025 Qualifiers
Morocco delivered an impressive performance, defeating the Central African Republic 5-0 in front of their home fans during Matchday 3 of the AFCON 2025 Qualifiers. Azzedine Ounahi scored twice, while captain Achraf Hakimi and Real Betis player Abde each added a goal to the tally.
After winning their first two matches against Lesotho and Gabon, coach Walid Regragui's squad maintained their unbeaten streak and perfect record in the qualifiers with another commanding victory.
Most of the goals came in the first half, starting with Abde's opener in the 18th minute. Ounahi found the net for the first time in the 38th minute, and Hakimi, as captain, extended the lead to three goals right before halftime in the 45th minute. Ounahi completed his brace with a goal in stoppage time. The final goal came from a well-taken penalty by Hakimi in the 71st minute.
With this victory, Morocco sits as a strong favorite and leads Group B with a total of nine points, while the Central African Republic remains in third place with just three points.
