Sam Long and the Top Male Triathletes Ready for the T100 in Lake Las Vegas: An Elite Showdown
With everything to play for in the sixth and penultimate stage of the T100 Triathlon World Tour, American Sam Long, currently in third place in the overall standings, will look to solidify his position at the top before the T100 World Championship grand finale in Dubai, which will take place on November 16 and 17, where the first T100 world champions will be crowned.
Close behind him are the season's top contenders: Belgian Pieter Heemeryk, Germans Rico Bogen and Fred Funk, Frenchman Mathis Margirier, and double Olympic champion Alistair Brownlee from Great Britain. All of them have shown they have what it takes to win a T100 race this season, but none have yet achieved the perfect race.
One of Long’s greatest threats will be Belgian Olympian Marten Van Riel, who has already demonstrated his ability to win, following his dramatic three-way sprint victory in San Francisco last June. Van Riel is seen as one of the favorites, having won all five middle-distance triathlon events he has competed in this year.
The full list of contracted male triathletes competing in the Lake Las Vegas T100 Triathlon, in the order they appear in the current rankings, is as follows:
- Sam Long (USA)
- Pieter Heemeryk (BEL)
- Rico Bogen (GER)
- Mathis Margirier (FRA)
- Fred Funk (GER)
- Alistair Brownlee (GBR)
- Marten Van Riel (BEL)
- Aaron Royle (AUS)
- Jason West (USA)
- Javier Gómez (ESP)
- Max Neumann (AUS)
With such a strong field of competitors, the Lake Las Vegas stage promises to be an epic battle before the grand finale in Dubai, where the world’s best triathletes will compete for glory and the title of T100 world champion.
