AFA's Complaint to FIFA Over Controversy at Paris 2024
The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has filed a complaint with FIFA regarding the events during the U-23 team’s debut at the Paris Olympics, which ended in a 1-2 defeat to Morocco after a nearly two-hour suspension.
"From the Argentine Football Association, we have already submitted the complaint to FIFA's Disciplinary Committee so that the appropriate regulatory measures are taken and sanctions are imposed on those responsible," wrote AFA President Claudio Tapia on his X account.
This announcement follows a long list of complaints in Argentina, including from Lionel Messi, about the resumption of the match and the disallowance of a dramatic goal after a lengthy interruption caused by Moroccan fans invading the pitch and throwing bottles and at least one firecracker at the South American team while they celebrated their 2-2 equalizer.
