Verstappen: The Wonder Kid Turned Three-Time World Champion
Verstappen's 2023 was historic, what awaits the Dutch driver in the future?
Max Verstappen's 2023 was historic, as he not only secured his third consecutive world championship with Red Bull but also set a record for the most victories in a year (a record he had previously set with 15 wins) by winning 19 races this year. Verstappen's records don't stop there, as he also became the driver with the most consecutive victories with ten, surpassing German driver Sebastian Vettel.
Max has been a different kind of driver since his debut in Formula 1, becoming the youngest driver to debut at just 17 years and 166 days at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix. Later, at the 2016 Brazilian Grand Prix, Verstappen became the youngest driver to achieve the fastest lap in an F1 race. At the age of 24, he became the fourth youngest driver and the first Dutch driver to win the F1 championship.
"Max is on his way, without a doubt. I mean, if there's anyone you could consider a record-breaker, it's going to be Max Verstappen," said Mario Andretti, the 1978 F1 World Champion.
After a historic year and record-breaking achievements for Max Verstappen, is this the beginning of a legend, or have we already witnessed the peak of the Dutch driver?
