Aston Martin to Lose Technical Director in 2025 F1 Season
Aston Martin has announced that Dan Fallows will step down as technical director in November, though he will remain with the team in a different capacity.
Reflecting on his time with the team, Fallows shared, “It’s been a joy and privilege to guide the technical team on our path towards victories and championships. The time has come to pass the torch, but I’m confident the team’s future success is just around the corner.”
Fallows joined Aston Martin from Red Bull in 2023 and played a key role in Fernando Alonso’s impressive eight-podium streak that season. However, performance has since stalled, with the AMR24 struggling to compete at the front and fighting for points each race.
Aston Martin Group CEO Andy Cowell expressed his gratitude, saying, “I want to thank Dan for his contribution over the past two years. His work with the AMR23 brought us eight podiums last season.”
The team is looking to 2026 with optimism. With the upcoming regulatory changes, Aston Martin will benefit from the expertise of Adrian Newey, one of the most successful engineers in F1 history, who will join the team in March 2025. Additionally, Aston Martin’s new wind tunnel and factory, currently in their final construction stages, will be ready by then, providing a crucial edge for the upcoming seasons.
