Starting in 2026, Alpine will become a Mercedes customer, using the German brand's engines, power units, and gearboxes until at least 2030 as part of Formula 1’s new regulatory era, which marks the end of their reliance on Renault components.

Alpine confirmed the news in a statement on Tuesday, announcing, "Alpine, Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains, and Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix have signed agreements for power units and gearboxes beginning with the 2026 World Championship season." The multi-year agreement will see Mercedes-Benz supply Alpine with power units for the new regulatory era, and from 2026, Alpine will also receive Mercedes gearboxes.

The team emphasized its ongoing commitment to perform at the highest level in the remaining 2024 and 2025 seasons. Alpine is coming off a double-podium finish at the Brazilian Grand Prix on November 3, with Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly finishing second and third, which propelled the team to sixth place in the constructors' championship standings with just three races left.

Looking ahead to the next season, Alpine has announced that Ocon will be leaving to join Haas, while Australian driver Jack Doohan, son of legendary motorcyclist Mick Doohan, will join the team.
