ONE Friday Fights 140 Results: Kongchai Wins In Record-Setting Appearance, Rachid Destroys Kacem

  • ONE Championship closed out the first month of 2026 with a knockout-heavy card, as ONE Friday Fights 140 delivered 14 high-octane bouts at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, January 30.

Former Rajadamnern Stadium World Champion Kongchai Chanaidonmueang made history with his record 16th appearance on the weekly series, outworking Lethwei Champion Thway Lin Htet over three fierce rounds to claim the unanimous decision in the main event. Myanmar veteran Sonrak Fairtex bounced back with a devastating second-round TKO in the co-main event, and Moroccan destroyer Hamza "The Reaper" Rachid obliterated Antar Kacem's five-fight winning streak with a third-round stoppage in the featured attraction.

A Record-Setting Main Event

Kongchai Chanaidonmueang made ONE Friday Fights history with his 16th appearance on the weekly series, as he outclassed Lethwei Champion Thway Lin Htet across three brutal rounds to claim a unanimous decision victory in the main event.

A violent tone was set in the opening round of the strawweight Muay Thai tilt. Kongchai, a former Rajadamnern Stadium World Champion, came out firing looping overhands as he kept his head tucked. However, when Thway Lin Htet applied his signature forward pressure and threw his deadly power shots, the Thai dragged him into the clinch. Every time the 22-year-old Myanmar powerhouse closed distance, the Thai veteran tied him up and controlled the position, preventing the kind of firefight that favors aggressive brawlers like the Lethwei expert.

The second frame turned into a leg kick war, with both fighters chopping at each other’s lead legs and landing heavy leather. Thway Lin Htet threw flashy spinning elbows and backfists in search of a highlight-reel finish, but Kongchai's clinch dominance continued, as he landed knees from close range.

The final three minutes belonged to the 23-year-old Thai. Thway Lin Htet's spinning attacks grew predictable, allowing Kongchai to read them coming and counter with straight lefts that snapped the Myanmar fighter's head back. The Tor Sangtiennoi product mixed in devastating body kicks that pierced through his opponent's defense, adding damage that accumulated over three hard rounds.

When the final bell sounded, all three judges agreed – Kongchai had done enough to cement his legacy as ONE Friday Fights' most active competitor. The win pushed his career record to 77-16 and moved him closer to the life-changing contract he so desperately seeks.

Sonrak Finishes Buakhiao In Round Two

Myanmar may have lost in the main event, but Sonrak Fairtex earned his home country a big win, as he demolished Buakhiao Por Paoin in the co-main event. The 28-year-old produced a clinical performance that showcased his elite counter-striking and devastating power.

Buakhiao's height advantage disappeared the moment the opening bell sounded. Sonrak refused to fight at distance, pressuring forward and landing crisp combinations that repeatedly snapped his Thai rival’s head back. Right hooks and straight lefts found home throughout the first frame as the 24-year-old struggled to establish his preferred range. Every time Buakhiao tried to create space, Sonrak shut it down with aggressive footwork and power shots that kept the pressure building.

Round two started with more of the same before Sonrak found the finish. A solid left kick set up the sequence – he fired a laser-sharp straight left that froze Buakhiao in place. Another straight left sent him crashing to the canvas for the first knockdown.

The Thai beat the count,  but the Myanmar veteran smelled blood in the water. One more crisp straight left landed flush, causing the referee to wave off the contest. The TKO victory improved Sonrak’s record to 71-24.

‘The Reaper’ Destroys Kacem's Winning Streak

Hamza "The Reaper" Rachid obliterated Antar Kacem's five-fight winning streak with an emphatic third-round TKO stoppage in the featured attraction. The 26-year-old Moroccan dropped the French-Belarusian twice before finishing the job just 33 seconds into the final frame.

The opening round of the bantamweight Muay Thai showdown started tactically with both fighters trading jabs and low kicks. But soon, Rachid found his rhythm. Left hooks and right high kicks tested Kacem's chin repeatedly until the Moroccan found his opening – a crisp three-punch combination that sent his 27-year-old rival to the mat. The French-Belarusian rose to his feet, but his eye showed visible damage.

Rachid’s confidence only grew from there. In the second, he alternated between orthodox and southpaw stances while connecting with punches from the outside. That made life difficult for Kacem, who struggled to mount any consistent offense.

It all led to a very quick third and final round. Kacem, feeling the desperation, surged forward throwing punches in bunches, backing Rachid into the ropes looking for the comeback knockout. It turned out to be a bad decision. The Moroccan countered with a lethal right head kick that dropped Kacem for the second time. When the French-Belarusian rose, “The Reaper” pounced immediately – punches and another high kick overwhelmed him until he fell into the referee, prompting the stoppage.

That statement win elevated Rachid’s record to 19-2 and marked him as a legitimate threat in the division.
