Canelo Álvarez Appears in Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Commercial
Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez is not only the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet, but also a figure with tremendous reach who continues to surprise with the new horizons he explores beyond the boxing ring. This time, he has astonished the world with his appearance in a commercial for the popular video game Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
After his latest victory in September against Edgar Berlanga, the multiple-time Mexican champion has broken the barrier between sports and video games, an industry that generates millions of dollars and seemingly knows no limits.
This time, "Canelo" appeared in a commercial alongside actor Peter Stormare, a promo that has generated significant buzz. It's even speculated that the boxer could appear as a character in the franchise, which is available for PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile devices on iOS and Android.
In the commercial, "Canelo" can be seen boxing against an opponent and asking who it is, only to be surprised when his sparring partner is playing *Call of Duty*. His replacement grabs a bat and attempts to strike the Mexican fighter.
What's next for "Canelo" Álvarez?
The boxer is preparing his schedule for 2025 and has recently made headlines with his statements expressing his desire to fight in Asia.
"I would love, at some point, to fight in Japan because I grew up watching Chololo Larios. It would be a dream for me. I’d love to have the opportunity to fight in Japan," Álvarez told TUDN, also mentioning that he will travel to the country to assess the feasibility of this option.
