Usyk's Provocation Towards Canelo
The heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk, one of the most prominent boxers, discussed the unlikely but intriguing matchup between Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford, and he didn't favor the Mexican, known as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the sport.
"Terence is my friend, but he's crazy. I say Terence wins. Listen, Terence is a different man. Terence works in two stances. He's a very, very, very intelligent man," Usyk stated on the 3KRPodcast, expressing his confidence in Crawford, who would start at a disadvantage as, if the fight were to materialize, he'd have to move up three weight classes.
Meanwhile, “Canelo” Álvarez remains steadfast in his decision and won't accept unless the monetary amount is satisfactory to him, as was the case with Benavidez, where he raised the sum to $200 million to make the fight happen.
On the other hand, the International Boxing Federation will have the Mexican fight against William Scull, while the American continues to await Álvarez's approval, who wants to control his own destiny.
