Floyd Mayweather’s Latest Multimillion-Dollar Acquisition
Floyd Mayweather, known for his boxing success and the nickname “Money,” has recently expanded his real estate empire with a significant investment in New York.
On October 16, 2024, Mayweather acquired over 60 buildings in Upper Manhattan, adding more than 1,000 affordable housing units to his portfolio. This transaction, valued at $402 million, stands out as one of the largest in the city this year.
Through his social media, Mayweather shared his excitement about this acquisition. In an Instagram story, he displayed a commemorative plaque of his new buildings and expressed: “Having fun, living life, making power moves every day.” He also took the opportunity to flaunt a new Dior suitcase, adding to his existing collection, and added: “Money earned, and you know the rest.”
This investment is not Mayweather’s first foray into New York’s real estate market. Previously, he partnered with SL Green Realty to invest in nine skyscrapers and is also involved in a proposal to develop a casino in Times Square.
Having retired from boxing with an impeccable 50-0 record and multimillion-dollar earnings from high-profile fights, Mayweather’s net worth is estimated at $1.2 billion, positioning him among the world’s richest athletes.
