"Canelo" vs Crawford: The Fight That Could Revolutionize Boxing
With just a few weeks until his next bout against Edgar Berlanga on September 14, Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez has made it clear that “the order doesn’t matter” when it comes to facing quality opponents to continue expanding his greatness.
The world's best pound-for-pound fighter has no shortage of rivals, from American David Benavidez to Terence Crawford, who have emerged as the most likely opponents for the Mexican to have another marquee fight in the ring. However, Crawford is the favorite.
As with Benavidez, "the problem" with making this fight happen once again comes down to the financial agreement required. Terence Crawford is very interested in making the fight happen, considering bypassing the WBO's order to face Sebastián Fundora for the substantial amount he would receive.
"I'm not saying that fight [against Crawford] can't happen. The order doesn't matter," is Canelo's response to the speculation that will be resolved in 2025.
