LeBron James Casts Doubt on His Future
LeBron James, who got knocked out of the NBA playoffs by the Denver Nuggets this Monday, mentioned he's gonna focus on family in the upcoming weeks and brushed off a question during the press conference about whether this was his last game with the Los Angeles Lakers.
"I'm not touching that one, thanks," LeBron James said with a smile at the Ball Arena in Denver when asked if he's thought about whether this might be his final game in purple and gold.
At 39, James has a player option worth $51.4 million for the 2024-2025 season to stick with the Lakers. "I'm just gonna be with my family, honestly," LeBron said about his short-term plans, adding that he'll then shift focus to preparing for this summer's Paris Games.
"They're the reigning champs, a super, great team, well-coached, made the plays when it counted, all credit to them," King James acknowledged the Nuggets' strength.
LeBron dropped 30 points, grabbed nine boards, and dished out eleven assists in the Lakers' loss, sealed by a clutch jumper from Jamal Murray with 3.6 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
The Lakers had managed to stave off elimination last Saturday in Los Angeles.
The Nuggets are set to square off against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference second round of the playoffs. The Wolves knocked out the Phoenix Suns (4-0).
