LeBron James and His Son Bronny Make NBA History
For the first time in history, father and son played together. It happened during the preseason game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns.
LeBron James and his son, Bronny James, shared the court for the first time this Sunday during the NBA preseason in the Los Angeles Lakers' 118-114 loss to the Phoenix Suns at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California.
LeBron, 39, and Bronny, who turned 20 that day, made history as the first father-son duo to play in an NBA preseason game.
On October 22, when the NBA regular season begins, the Lakers will face the Minnesota Timberwolves, which could see the two take the court together in an official game for the first time.
Bronny made his debut alongside his father at the start of the second quarter. LeBron finished the game with 19 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks in 16 minutes and 20 seconds.
Bronny, on the other hand, did not score, missing his only attempt—a three-pointer off a pass from LeBron. He grabbed two rebounds and committed four turnovers in 13 minutes and 25 seconds of play.
The Lakers began their preseason on Friday with a 107-124 loss to the Timberwolves, where LeBron didn’t play but Bronny did. In that game, Bronny contributed two points, three blocks, a rebound, and an assist.
