LeBron and Bronny James Unveil Lakers' New 'LakeShow' City Edition Jerseys
The Los Angeles Lakers unveiled their 2024-25 City Edition jerseys in a video featuring LeBron James, Bronny James, and Anthony Davis, among others.
The jerseys feature the word "LakeShow" on a background that fades from black to purple.
"This is definitely a representation of the Lakers and the city, that's for sure," LeBron James said while debuting the new design.
The Lakers will debut these jerseys on November 21 against the Orlando Magic, and they will be available for sale starting November 14.
According to a team press release, the numbers on these jerseys are inspired by the style the Lakers used between 1999 and 2017.
During that period, the franchise won five championships, including a "three-peat" from 2000 to 2002, and back-to-back titles in 2009 and 2010, wearing numbers in that style.
This is the first time a Lakers jersey features a color gradient, according to the team.
This is not the only historical first that will come with the use of these jerseys. The players will also debut a new court design at Crypto.com Arena.
As mentioned by guard Max Christie in the video, this will be the first time in franchise history that Los Angeles unveils an alternate court design, except for the one designed by the league for the 2023 NBA In-Season Tournament.
The new court, which can be seen in the video, features a black "LA" logo at center court, a matching color gradient along the sides, and the words "Lake Show" on each baseline.
The Lakers' regular season will begin on October 22 with a home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The players will wear the City Edition jerseys for the first time in the fifteenth game of the season, on the new court.
Additionally, this fall, the Lakers will also wear other alternate jerseys, including the Icon, Statement, and Association editions, with debut dates yet to be announced.
