Despite World Series Loss, Yankees Renew Manager’s Contract
Aaron Boone will stay on as manager of the Yankees for an eighth season, the New York team announced. Boone, who’s 51 and originally from La Mesa, California, first joined the Yankees in 2018.
In the 2024 season, Boone led the Yankees to a solid 94-68 record. They topped the AL West Division in the regular season and made it to the World Series, where they ultimately fell to the Dodgers.
"I’m grateful for the trust placed in me to lead this team. It’s a responsibility and an opportunity that I’ll never take lightly," Boone said in a statement released by the club.
Since taking over the Yankees, Boone has accumulated 603 wins and 429 losses. Under his management, the Yankees have won three division titles and made a World Series appearance.
