Mahomes Speaks Out After Robberies at His and Travis Kelce’s Homes
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes expressed frustration over the recent burglaries at his home and that of teammate Travis Kelce, which occurred while they were playing against the New Orleans Saints on October 7.
“It’s obviously frustrating and disappointing,” Mahomes said ahead of the Chiefs' Week 11 game against the Buffalo Bills. “I can’t go into too much detail because the investigation is still ongoing. But it’s not something you want happening to anyone, let alone yourself.”
Mahomes' home in Belton, Missouri, and Kelce’s residence in Leawood, Kansas, were both targeted on the day the two were at Arrowhead Stadium, where the Chiefs defeated the Saints 26-13.
“I can’t say much about the details surrounding the investigation right now, but I’m sure I’ll be able to share more eventually,” added Mahomes, a three-time Super Bowl champion. According to a police report obtained by KSHB, Kansas City’s local news channel, $20,000 in cash was stolen from Kelce’s home. Kelce, 35, who’s currently dating Taylor Swift, owns the $6 million property. Meanwhile, no information has been released about what might have been taken from Mahomes’ home, which features its own football practice field and a golf hole.
