QSL side Al Rayyan took a major step to qualification in the AFC Champions League with a narrow 2-1 victory over Saudi side Al Hilal thanks to goals in either half from Moroccan striker  Abderrazak Hamdallah & club captain Rodrigo Tabata. The result gives Al Rayyan six points with two games to play in the group stage.
