Kazakhstan's Bublik, who is ranked No.23 in the world and is twice quarter-finalist at the tournament, struggled with his serve, coughing up five double faults and seven break poin opportunities for Vukic, who took the two he needed to secure the win.
By contrast Vukic, who sits at No.81 on the ATP rankings, saved three break points to go one round further than he did at this tournament in 2023, and also avenged defeat to the same opponent on clay in the Round of 16 at Lyon in May.
The 28-year-old Australian will face Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka in the quarter-finals, a player he beat when they met previously on hard courts in the Round of 16 at Atlanta last year.
