Lecce salvages late point as Empoli blows lead
Lowly Lecce earned a desperate point against Empoli in a 1-1 draw in Serie A that leaves the hosts still scrapping for all it can in the bottom three while Empoli failed to make ground on the top six.
Pietro Pellegri put Empoli in front on 33 minutes but the visitors couldn't hold out for the win and Santiago Pierotti scored the leveller on 77 minutes to earn Lecce a point that could prove vital in its fight against relegation.
