Lazio trumps Torino as hosts lose top spot
Torino lost its grip on top spot in Serie A after slipping to its first league defeat of the season, a 3-2 home reverse to Lazio.
Lazio went ahead in the eighth minute, former Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi striking from just inside the box.
Boulaye Dia doubled the lead on the hour with a sweeping finish, but the hosts pulled one back when Che Adams was introduced and scored seven minutes later.
Torino coach Paolo Vanoli was sent to stands for dissent in the 74th minute, and not long after that Lazio substitute Tijjani Noslin put home a third.
Saul Coco scored a consolation goal in stoppage-time with a fine volley, but it was not enough to turn things around.
"I was really angry at our first half performance," Vanoli said after the match.
"We played better after the break. It is a shame as when we play like we did in the second half we can cause trouble for anyone."
