Cagliari grabs spirited win as Torino loses again
Torino lost more ground on the top six as it fell to a 3-2 defeat to Cagliari in a pulsating Serie A clash.
Cagliari, which had only five goals from seven matches at the start of the match, scored first when Nicolas Viola fired home in the 38th minute.
Antonio Sanabria's header brought the visitors level prior to the break before Karol Linetty fired home a rocket of a finish to put them ahead for the first time early in the second half.
But Cagliari's character shone through as Jose Luis Palomino headed home to bring the sides level again on 74 minutes and just four minutes later, Saul Coco inadvertently diverted a cross into this own net to hand all three points to the hosts.
Torino has now lost its past three matches in the league after a very bright start and sits ninth on the table with 11 points having only one once in its past five Serie A matches.
For Cagliari, victory moved it up to 15th with nine points, putting some distance at last between itself and the bottom three.
