Mbappe fires as PSG puts Lyon to the sword
Kylian Mbappe scored twice as Paris Saint-Germain made light work of Lyon in Ligue 1, winning 4-1 having scored all its goals in the first 45 minutes.
The France star scored from the spot inside the first four minutes to get things moving for the visitors, and was on the scoresheet again to make it 4-0 just before the break after being put through by Marco Asensio.
Asensio scored one of his own just before assisting Mbappe, blasting home after Achraf Hakimi had scored PSG's second.
While Lyon mustered as many shots on target as Luis Enrique's PSG side, Laurent Blanc's men were completely starved of possesion for much of the match, grabbing only the consolation of a penalty when Corentin Tolisso converted from the spot in the 74th minute.
Victory was not enough for PSG to knock Monaco off top spot, a position it earned after beating Lens 3-0 24 hours earlier.
