Ten-man Rayo Vallecano hands Alaves defeat
Alaves suffered its fifth straight defeat in LaLiga, winning 1-0 despite playing almost 70 minutes a man light.
Abdul Murmin was dismissed in the 22nd minute after his initial yellow for a foul on Toni Martinez as ran in behind the home defence was overturned to a red after a VAR review.
Vallecano never looked like settling for a point and grabbed all three late in the match when a long-range strike from Gerard Gumbau in the 80th minute was initially tipped on to the crossbar by Alaves goalkeeper Antonio Sivera, but the rebound hit his arm and was diverted back into the net for the goal.
Andre Ratiu almost added a second for the hostsin the final minute of normal time, again hitting the crossbar but this one deflected safely away for Alaves.
The result, though, was another poor one for Luis Garcia's side, which now sits in 14th after a promising start to the season was replaced by this awful run of defeats.
For Vallecano, the three points lifted it into seventh place, one point off Mallorca inside the top six.
