Rayo Vallecano produced a superd performance away from home to score a 2-1 victory at Real Sociedad in the opening fixture of their respective LaLiga campaigns.
After a goalless first half, Jorge de Frutos was first on the scoresheet for the visitors, tying the Sociedad defenders in knots before unleashing an unstoppable shot to silence the home support.
Sergio Camello double the lead with six minutes of normal time remaining with a cool finish before Martin Zubimendi netted for Sociedad in the eighth minute of stoppage-time, but it was too little too late for the team that finish in the top six last season.
