Puado hat-trick fires Espanyol in thriller
Captain Javi Puado scored a hat-trick for Espayol as it held on to beat Alaves 3-2 in a LaLiga cracker at Stage Cront Stadium.
Puado scored the opener in the 21st minute before Alaves equalised 10 minutes before half-time to make it level at the break.
But Puado was on hand again in the 56th minute to send a glancing header into the back of the net before scoring his third from the spot after Espanyol was awarded a penalty just after the hour mark.
Alaves did score a second with more than 20 minutes left to play, but was unable to final another leveller, allowing Espanyol to hang on for all three points.
The victory was Espanyol's second of the season having been promoted back to Spain's top flight and lifted it to seventh on the table, level on seven points with Alaves, which sits in sixth.
