Nine-man Celta keeps Las Palmas winless
Celta Vigo saw two red cards in as many minutes but held on to to beat Las Palmas 1-0 away from home and ensure the hosts remain without a win in LaLiga this season.
Borja Inglesias had the visitors ahead on 28 minutes, diverting a superb cross from Oscar Mingueza into the back of the net, and Celta held its one-goal lead to the break.
But things went south quickly after the restart when on 54 minutes, Ilaix Moriba was sent off for a second yellow card and Iago Aspas was also booked for his complaints to the referee.
Two minutes later, Las Palmas players reminded the referee Celta's captain was already in the book, and Aspas was also sent from the field, leaving his to play more than half an hour with nine men.
Somehow, though, Celta held out to the final whistle to claim all three points and move into the top 10, while Las Palmas failed to take its opportunity and remains rooted to the bottom of the table.
