Celta stays top after comeback against Valencia
Celta Vigo was forced to come from behind against Valencia to make it two wins from two in the new LaLiga season and stay top of the early standings with an impressive 3-1 home win.
Diego Lopez had nodded the visitors ahead in the 14th minute, but Oscar Mingueza had the home side level less than 10 minutes later when he volleyed home a pinpoint cross from Iago Aspas.
It was the 37-year-old veteran that scored himself to put Celta in front five minutes after that and Fran Beltran put a full-stop on the win with a sensational curling strike for the third on the hour mark, his first goal in four years and only his seventh in an almost decade-long stint in Spain's top flight.
While Celta enjoys life at the top of the table, for Valencia it was two defeats to start its new season, leaving it bottom of the pile for another week at least.
