Betis breaks its duck as Leganes loses out
Real Betis earned its first win of the LaLiga season with a relatively routine 2-0 victory over Leganes, thanks to goals from Abde Ezzalzouli and Victor Roque.
Leganes thought it had taken the lead for a split second when Borussia Dortmund loanee Sebastien Haller headed home, but his effort was correctly chalked off for offside.
There was to be no score in the first half and indeed much of the second until Ezzalzouli flicked home the opener for Betis on 74 minutes.
Victor Roque somewhat fortuitously deflected a saved effort in four minutes from time to double Betis's lead and send it soaring up to ninth on the table, past Leganes in 11th.
