Palace frontline fires to see off Norwich
Crystal Palace put its disappointing start the the Premier League season in the past with a thumping 4-0 win over Norwich City in the Carabao Cup second round, with forwards Daichi Kamada, Jean-Philipped Mateta, and Eberechi Eze all on the scoresheet.
Kamada, who arrived on a free transer from Lazio in the off-season, put the Eagles ahead inside the first 90 seconds at Selhurst Park, cooly rounding the keeper to slot home the opener.
The Canaries had chances of their own in the first half and hit the post, but remained a goal down at the break, with Palace having lost new centre back Chadi Riad to what appeared to be a serious knee injury.
Palace boss Oliver Glasner must have said the right words at half-time as his charges came out with renewed vigour after the break.
France Olympic silver medal winner Mateta netted the first of two for him with an acrobatic effort on 57 minutes and blasted home an assist from Eze in the 68th before the England man got one of his own to add further gloss to the scoreline with six minutes remaining.
