Stuttgart run halted by gutsy Werder Bremen
Third-placed Stuttgart’s 11-game unbeaten run in the Bundesliga was halted in a 2-1 defeat at mid-table Werder Bremen.
Bremen, which lost 5-0 to Bayer Leverkusen last week to hand Xabi Alonso's side the title, recovered well against another high-flying opponent and led Stuttgart through Marvin Ducksch's penalty on 28 inutes.
Ducksch grabbed a second not long after the break, and despite Deniz Undav pulling one back for the visitors with 20 minutes remaining, Bremen held on to take all three points.
