Napoli 2-1 Juventus: Lukaku penalty ends visitors' unbeaten Serie A run
Juventus' unbeaten start to their Serie A campaign came to an end against leaders Napoli, who came from a goal behind to emerge victorious.
Romelu Lukaku's second-half penalty earned Serie A leaders Napoli a huge 2-1 victory over Juventus, who suffered their first league defeat of the season.
Antonio Conte's side also extended their lead at the summit of the standings to six points over Inter, who face Lecce on Sunday at the Stadio Ettore Giardiniero.
Juventus started brightly in the contest, with Kenan Yildiz the first to test Alex Meret before Matteo Politano fired over after good work from Frank Anguissa.
The visitors took the lead two minutes before the break when Randal Kolo Muani, who joined on loan from Paris Saint-Germain earlier this week, volleyed home on debut.
But Anguissa restored parity just before the hour, powering Politano's floated delivery into the box with a fine header beyond the grasp of Michele Di Gregorio.
The turnaround was complete 12 minutes later after Scott McTominay was hauled down in the penalty area following a clumsy challenge from midfielder Manuel Locatelli.
And from the resulting spot-kick, Lukaku sent the ball down the middle to seal the victory and net his ninth Serie A goal of the season in the process.
Data Debrief: 200 up for Lukaku
Lukaku has shown over the years his prowess in front of goal, with his latest strike bringing up a landmark moment in the Belgian's impressive club career.
His penalty against Juventus was his 200th goal in the top five European leagues. Lukaku has also been involved in at least one goal (including assists) in four consecutive Serie A appearances for the first time since the period between April and June 2023 (seven).
Lukaku also became only the second player in Serie A history to score against Juventus, with Inter, Roma and Napoli, after Amedeo Amadei.
Napoli, meanwhile, have now won seven games in a row in Serie A for the first time since the period between January and February 2023 (eight under Luciano Spalletti).
