Hummels sent off as Dortmund falls to Leipzig
RB Leipzig triumphed in the battle between fourth and fifth in the Bundesliga by winning 3-2 against 10-man Borussia Dortmund.
Mats Hummels was sent off after 15 minutes for a rash challenge on Luis Openda and Leipzig took full advantage through a Ramy Bensebaini own goal.
Niklas Sule equalised right on half-time but Christoph Baumgartner and Yussuf Poulssen scored before Niclas Fullkrug’s late consolation.
The win leaves Dortmund languishing somewhat 10 points of leader Bayer Levernkusen, which plays third-placed Stuttgart on Monday (AEDT) as a weekend of fixtures dubbed the Super Matchday comes to a close.
