LeBron James conceded that Cleveland Cavaliers' foul trouble did not allow them to find their rhythm as they slipped to a second consecutive NBA defeat against Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday.

Two days after going down 118-101 against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Cavs were once again disappointing as the Clippers - who were on a three-match losing streak - earned a 113-94 victory at the Quicken Loans Arena.

The Cavs were partially the architects of their own downfall as they finished the match with 18 turnovers and committed 16 personal fouls in the first half.

James admits the Cavs, leaders in the Eastern Conference, have been off the pace this week, but is confident the NBA champions will soon rediscover their top form.

"That was a weird game, especially in that first half and that second quarter, the whistle was blowing so much," he told reporters. 

"We couldn't get into a rhythm, we did a good job coming out in the first quarter, but the game just got unravelled. All the calls that were going on, we got in foul trouble, some of our big key guys, and they just broke our rhythm, they did a good job.

"Those guys played desperate basketball and with them losing the last three, they played some good ball.

"Some of our turnovers were forced, some of them were tagged turnovers, I know, I think one of my turnovers was unforced.

"Two pretty poor games for sure, but in an 82-game season, you're going to have a couple of games, maybe a few games in the season, where they're pretty poor. You hope they're not back to back, but it happens.

"It's happened to us in Milwaukee and now [against the Clippers], and the best thing about this league is you kind of get the opportunity right away to be better now."

The Cavs will look to return to winning ways on the road when they visit Chicago Bulls.
