United loses Ibrahimovic and Lukaku to injury
Manchester United will be without Zlatan Ibrahimovic for a month, and Romelu Lukaku for a couple of matches as its title tilt falters badly.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been ruled out for a month after not featuring for Manchester United in its goalless draw with Southampton on Sunday (AEDT).
The result dropped the Red Devils into third on the Premier League ladder after Chelsea thumped Stoke City 5-0, and Jose Mourinho's men could be 17 point behind leader Manchester City if it wins against Crystal Palace on Monday (AEDT).
Added to the woes, Mourinho also lost Romelu Lukaku to a head injury just eight minutes into the match against the Saints, and believes the Belgium star is likely to miss two matches.
Lukaku clashed heads with defender Wesley Hoedt at Old Trafford and consequently made way for Marcus Rashford.
Lukaku received treatment on the pitch for several minutes before leaving the field on a stretcher.
While Mourinho remains uncertain of the extent of Lukaku's issue, he does not expect to have him available for Tuesday's (AEDT) trip to Everton or the FA Cup clash against Derby County.
"I don't know," he said. "I know that normally bad, bad news arrives immediately and bad news didn't arrive.
"But to leave the pitch the way he did, we don't think twice to make that decision immediately. It's because there is a problem not just for today but the next two matches I would say, for sure."
